Barcelona is the city where second-hand home prices increased most in the first quarter of the year according to a report by Tecnocasa. The 12.73% increase in the Catalan capital contrasts with the Spanish state average of 8.24% or 7.36% in Madrid. According to the new data, the rise in Barcelona is also due to more expensive flats gaining weight in sales transactions as a whole, with homes over ¿300,000 now comprising 11.5% of Tecnocasa operations, up 10.3% from 2013 data.
